Kirkbymoorside Community Fridge

Its purpose is to prevent food waste, by taking surplus from shops and gardeners and passing it on to anyone who is able to use it. In spite of its name, the available food is by no means limited to what you would put in your fridge.

The Community Fridge is designed to help reduce waste. It is not a food bank, and is not intended as a support mechanism for people in need. Everyone is assured of a friendly welcome, and is encouraged to take away anything they will be able to use to feed themselves and their families.

The Fridge is open every Wednesday from 10.00 am at the Methodist Chapel in Piercy End. If you have anything to donate, please bring it along on any Tuesday afternoon between 3.30 and 4.30, or on Wednesday morning as soon as possible after opening time, especially for perishables.

For further information or to volunteer at Kirkby Community Fridge, please contact Charlotte and Louise at kirkbyfreefridge@yahoo.com , or follow our updates on Facebook ‘Kirkby Community Fridge’.
