In 2012, based on a date stone over the entrance, we made an assumption that the building is 200 years old and as such, have made the year one of celebration - 200 years of continuing worship in the same building is worth celebrating! And we need to remember that it is the people who are the ‘church’, not the building in which we meet.
As part of the celebrations many historic documents were traced for
an exhibition in church. Just a few of these are shown here. The
research revealed that the site had been in Methodist hands much
longer. Land and property was transferred to trustees on Christmas Day
1788 (which may be why even today the property insurance is due on 25th
December)
